RUNNING WILD LIVING FREE
Set in the unforgiving but staggeringly beautiful Caucasus highlands, Running Wild Living Free is a feature documentary film that explores the stigma of Islamic radicalization in the Pankisi Gorge.  The Pankisi Gorge a.k.a. Georgia’s “Valley of Terror” is notorious for having produced the legendary ISIS leader, Abu Umar al-Shishani and other ISIS fighters.  Our journey begins with Dewi Ashmadiredja, a German woman who came to the valley a decade ago to learn the Chechen language, twists of fate sees her abandoned by her German husband left penniless in a foreign land, living in a cave, adopted by a Pankisi family, eventually becoming a local legend for her deep local knowledge of this rugged land, its vivacious tribes, and her tireless defense of her adopted peoples.
